Hello, I would like to start by saying I hope everyone is alright after this superstorm. I would also like to apologize saying I know that this is late but I must explain that the power did not return to my house until earlier today. I hope that this will still be counted if not I understand but I would ask that if it can be reconsidered. Thank You!

Hello. My name is Trevor Jahnke and I will be reviewing the superhero movie Chronicle. Which was directed by Josh Trank; written by Max Landis; and starring the relatively unknown Dane DeHann, Alex Russell, and Michael B. Jordan.

In a year that seemed to be full of superhero movies like the Avengers and the Dark Knight Rises, Chronicle stands out in one huge area; Creativity.

In Chronicle we are observing the movie all through the point of view of a hand held camera of a teen-ager named Andy, who is a loner and is constantly bullied by classmates and even his own father.

One night while being dragged to a party by his cousin Matt. Andy, Matt, and the class president Steve explore a mysterious cave where they find a crystal which gives them tele-kenetic abilities.

As the weeks go by we see them bond and develop their powers to the point where they can not only move things with their minds but they can also fly. Unfortunately we also observe the toll of the abuse that Andy has endured as he seeks revenge on those who have bullied him.

I don't want to give away any more of the story but let me just say that between the character development, the editing, and a fight scene worthy of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon; Chronicle is the best superhero movie of the year and in my opinion the best of the decade.

Yeah I know the Avengers was awesome and the Dark Knight Rises was amazing but where those movies received a budget of more than $200 Million Dollars, Chronicle was given only $15 Million Dollars to work with.
